Our limited edition #5 handled carrier is made from Birdseye Maple.  The rare, naturally occurring figure results from the Sugar Maple tree attempting to start numerous new buds to get more sunlight, but with poor growing conditions the new shoots are aborted leaving behind a number of tiny knots encased in the wood.    Anyone with a reverence for wood, an appreciation of highly figured woods, or simply the desire for collectibles in short supply will cherish this one-of-a-kind Birdseye Maple lidded box.  Multiple coats of a unique, custom, hand-rubbed finish gives each carrier a luster pleasing the eye and a softness that begs to be touched.
